PIVOTS or CONES

Other very important products of the SAININI SRL company are the PIVOTS (or CONES) for the start of the continuous casting used by steel mills.
These products, thanks to the skills of our workforce, are first forged and then pressed. The PIVOTS (or CONES) are made according to the drawing on the basis of the Customer's requests. A further finishing that can be carried out on the pieces is the sandblasting on request.

PROCESS: THE FORGING

Forging is the process of forming and shaping of metals by hammering or pressing and it is one of the oldest metalworking method.

Sainini Srl is specialized in the production of forgings that are made by forging or with the use of the hammer. Forging is done by shaping hot pieces of iron with an hammer.
This process is carried out freehand, that is without the use of special closed molds, so it requires a greater skill of the operator that manipulates the hot material.

The purpose of this process is the refinement of the crystalline structure which, thanks to the high temperatures and the subsequent modelling performed with the hammer, leads to an increase of the mechanical resistance of the material.
